Important Notice: Change in Criteria for the Data Driven ABA Waiting List

We inform you of an important change regarding the criteria for the waiting list for Data Driven ABA services.

Starting from July 23, 2024, the criterion for being called and receiving ABA service will no longer be based on the chronological order of registration on the waiting list.

The reasons for this change are as follows:

  1. Some individuals who had no prior knowledge of ABA joined the waiting list and, after receiving the service, realized within 1–3 months that an intensive ABA intervention for their child was too demanding in terms of time and personal effort. As a result, they dropped out, unfairly wasting the time and resources we had dedicated to them—resources that could have been better used to benefit other families.
  2. Other individuals who recently joined the list have shown great commitment by studying ABA and actively participating in our initiatives, but under the current waiting list structure, they would have to wait years to receive service.
  3. ABA intervention is more effective when parents already have a solid understanding of ABA.
  4. The waiting list continues to grow despite our efforts in training and outreach.

Therefore, starting July 23, 2024, we will adopt merit-based criteria.

At the sole discretion of Data Driven ABA, the following individual merits will be evaluated in order to gain priority on the waiting list:

  • Innovative initiatives to promote Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Help spread ABA by sharing clear, evidence-based information and getting involved.
  • Attendance of the Basic ABA Course offered by Data Driven ABA.
  • Attendance of one or more advanced courses (e.g., methodology, precision teaching, programming, food selectivity, ABA LAB, etc.).
  • Distinction during Data Driven ABA courses for study, results, or other merits.
  • Consistent participation in the Radical ABA SIG (on Telegram and/or Facebook), and support for the group (e.g., answering other members’ questions, helping Data Driven ABA transcribe Telegram voice messages to create Facebook posts for the SIG). Free SIG registration is available at https://datadrivenaba.com/sig.
  • Consistent participation in Facebook groups to spread ABA knowledge among those unfamiliar or confused about it.
  • Sharing on Facebook excerpts and comments related to the free eBook “Il Castello delle Voci nel Silenzio,” aimed at spreading vital information about the current landscape of ABA interventions (available for free at https://datadrivenaba.com/il-castello-delle-voci-nel-silenzio-intervista-con-lautore/).
  • Sharing information and Facebook posts related to the free ENBA DAYS conference (www.enbadays.eu).
  • Sharing posts published on the Facebook page of the European Network of Behavior Analysts (ENBA): https://www.facebook.com/behaviouranalysts.eu

Credits can be accumulated.

IMPORTANT: You are not required to promote the Data Driven ABA group, but rather to help spread awareness of ABA.

If you talk about us and our content, we’re happy to be cited and we truly appreciate it. However, the goals of the merit-based waiting list are:

  1. To ensure that parents requesting services from Data Driven ABA have a clear understanding of what to expect.
  2. To promote ABA in general (and not, as many have misunderstood, to advertise Data Driven ABA — which already receives more service requests than it can accommodate).

We understand that these selection criteria will make some people very happy, while disappointing others.

However, we stand for meritocracy: we believe that someone who demonstrates study, commitment, and dedication to their child’s progress in the field of ABA deserves a greater opportunity than someone who passively waits for a solution.

Moreover, these new criteria are inclusive: even those who have not yet taken any of these actions can start now and will have the same opportunities as all other applicants, regardless of when they joined the waiting list.

We will not reply to your email, but we will review your credits and update your position on the waiting list accordingly.

Waiting List

Unfortunately, we have no further places available in the ABA service for European citizens. If you are interested in our service, please sign up for the waiting list. We will contact you as soon as a place becomes available.

Waiting times are not predictable: the wait ranges from 2-3 years, depending on the progress of current projects.
